HOW TO APPLY:

 

Please follow the steps below. Your application

will NOT be processed until we have received

all required components listed. For your convenience,

we have made available a simple online process.

 

 

1. Complete an Online Application Form: 

For application form, go to the bottom of the page or click this link: APPLICATION FORM.

 

 

2. Submit Work Sample(s):

         (a) Attach submissions via URL (YouTube, Vimeo, etc.) to our Online Application Form. A DVD can also be sent to: jody Caley, Associate Director, 2028 Conchita St, Las Vegas, NV 89108. However, your application will not be processed until we receive your DVD.

 

         (b) Submissions must be of the work(s) you are proposing for the Festival. If you are proposing new work that is not yet completed, please submit rehearsal footage as closely related to the intended performance quality as possible. 

 

         (c) Each company may present up to 3 pieces, totaling no more than 30 minutes in length. If more than 1 piece is accepted, they will be divided between the different performances. (One of the strengths of the Festival has been to present 3 distinctly different performances.)

 

 

3. A $25.00 Application Fee (non-refundable) is required and can be paid:

        (a) Online through PayPal (credit card, debit, or PayPal account). After you fill out the application, you will be

     redirected to the payment process via PayPal. 

 

(b) By check (payable to New Dance Foundation for the Arts, Inc.) or money-order sent to: jody Caley, Associate Director, 2028 Conchita St, Las Vegas, NV 89108. However, your application will not be processed until we receive your payment.

 

 

4. A $75.00 Festival Participation Fee is required if accepted into the Festival:

(a) Upon acceptance, you will be notified by email indicating further Festival instructions and how to submit your Participation Fee.

 

(b) Participation Fee includes the following:

- All theatre costs

- All publicity costs

- A VIDEO of your choreographic works from the Festival. Format is to be determined...

- Admission for each participant into each dance master class held at the Summerlin Library

  Performing Arts Center on Friday, July 26th and Saturday, July 27th at 10:30 am

 

 

 

 

Established in 1999 by choreographers Kyla Quintero and Kelly Roth, the annual Las Vegas Dance in the Desert Festival strives to unite the dance community by offering local, regional, national and international companies and choreographers a forum in which to showcase their work, network with each other, collaborate, and build a community based audience. 

 

One of the unique aspects of the Festival is that it presents three distinct performances without repetition of pieces on each of the concerts over the course of the Festival weekend, allowing companies/artists the opportunity of presenting up to three different works. 

 

In 2013 the historic 15th annual Festival moved from its long-time home at the College of Southern Nevada, to a new partnership with the Las Vegas Clark County Library District at the Summerlin Library Performing Arts Center. The move proved to be renewing and reinvigorating for the Festival and was well received with sold-out houses. We look forward to another successful year with our new partners.

**Please note, however, as completed applications are received they will be reviewed on an ongoing basis. Space is limited by available tech time and length of concerts, so application submission is encouraged as soon as possible.
